Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Welcome to Morocco!
Touch down at Marrakech Menara Airport, where you’ll be warmly greeted by our friendly representative, ready to make your journey unforgettable. After a brief introduction, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in the vibrant city of Marrakech.
Depending on your arrival time, take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Marrakech. Wander through the legendary Djemaa-el-Fna Square, a bustling hub filled with storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and mouthwatering food stalls. Marvel at the majestic Koutoubia Mosque, whose 12th-century minaret stands as an emblem of the city. Feel free to stroll the nearby medina, a maze of souks offering everything from traditional handicrafts to aromatic spices.

Day 2: Marrakech – Bounou
Your day begins as we leave the vibrant city of Marrakech and journey south into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Crossing the Tichka Pass at 2,260 meters, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of winding roads and Berber villages perched on rugged hillsides. As we descend, the scenery transforms into the golden plains of Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert.Entering the lush Draa Valley, Morocco’s largest palm grove, you’ll find a sea of date palms and ancient kasbahs whispering tales of history. We’ll pass through Agdz, Zagora, and Tamgroute, known for its traditional pottery and historic Quranic library. On average, daily hikes last around 5 hours on trails or varied terrain, with a positive elevation gain between 200 and 300 meters, covering approximately 15 km per day.
• Duration: 8 days
• Luggage transport: You only carry your personal items needed for the day. Main luggage is carried by camels for optimal comfort.
• Accommodation: A combination of comfortable hotels, tented bivouacs, and traditional desert camps, offering a varied and authentic experience.
• Supervision: A French-speaking Moroccan guide, expert in the region and passionate about desert exploration.
• Group size: 4 to 15 participants. The departure is guaranteed from 4 registered travelers.
Accommodation
- Days 1 & 7: Nights in a hotel, in twin rooms with private bathrooms. Comfort and warm hospitality included.
- In the desert (Days 2 to 5): Nights in itinerant bivouac camps, in spacious dome tents (three-person tents for two people), equipped with two doors and two vestibules, and thick foam mattresses for a restorative sleep.
A comfortable camp is set up each day by our team, including:
- A dining tent for meals and social time
- A toilet tent
- Folding chairs and tables
- A personal mattress cover for the entire trek
- In Bounou (Day 6): Night in a permanent Saharan camp with traditional Berber tents (khaïmas), equipped with showers and toilets , ideal for a well-deserved rest at the end of the trek.
Meals
- Breakfast: Fresh bread, jam, butter, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereals
• Lunch: Cold meal with a mixed salad, accompanied by tea
• Dinner: A full hot meal including soup, a traditional main dish (tajine, couscous, rice, etc.), and dessert. Tea or herbal infusions served to end the evening
• Snack upon arrival at the bivouac: Mint tea and biscuits
• Hiking snacks: Dried fruits, dates, peanuts, biscuits, and pralines provided to support your effort
• New Year’s Eve (if applicable): Festive dinner with an enhanced menu and homemade Moroccan pastries
All meals are prepared by our cook, using carefully selected local ingredients.
Drinking Water
- Mineral water is included in the tour price and will be provided throughout the trek by the local team.
The team transports the water containers and returns them to Ouarzazate or Marrakech after use for recycling or local reuse by nomadic families.
Please bring your own water bottle, ideally insulated, to stay hydrated during the day.
Luggage Transport
- You only carry your daypack (water bottle, camera, windbreaker, etc.).
• Main luggage (personal and collective) is carried by pack camels during the trek.
• Each evening, you will retrieve your bags at the bivouac or camp.
• Avoid: Hard-shell suitcases or wheeled luggage.
• Recommended: A soft duffel or trekking bag, easy to load and comfortable for the animals.
