Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Arrival at Marrakech airport, where you will be welcomed by our team. Transfer to comfortable accommodation to rest and recover from your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy your first moments in Marrakech, either exploring the vibrant Medina or relaxing in the hotel. Overnight: Hotel. Meals: own arrangements. Day 2: Marrakech – Aguerzgua Village
After breakfast, depart Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains via the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching 2,260 meters. The winding route offers breathtaking panoramas of mountains and perched villages. Lunch in Ouarzazate, then continue along the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Skoura oasis, known for its historic mud-brick fortresses surrounded by palm groves. Continue to Kelaat M’Gouna, the capital of the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose festival in May. The road gradually climbs toward the high villages, revealing splendid views of mountains, gorges, and terraced fields. Arrive at Aguerzgua village (1,750 m) in an authentic and pristine setting. Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a late afternoon walk to explore the village and the spectacular M’Goun Gorges, a true natural jewel of the region. Overnight: Guesthouse in Aguerzgua. Day 3: Aguerzgua – M’Goun Gorges – Boutaghrar
After breakfast, begin a spectacular descent into the M’Goun Gorges, where the trail may lead you through shallow streams amid breathtaking scenery. Towering cliffs, ever-changing rock colors, and the river winding through the gorge create an unforgettable setting. Along the way, cross traditional villages including Ighrem Aqdim and Tamglouna, where local life flows in harmony with the M’Goun.Enjoy lunch under walnut trees by the river, surrounded by nature. In the afternoon, continue the trek through scenic trails until reaching the charming village of Boutaghrar, where you will stay overnight in a guesthouse. Day 4: Boutaghrar – Agouti
After breakfast, depart Boutaghrar, surrounded by beautiful kasbahs and fertile fields of roses, figs, walnuts, alfalfa, and potatoes. The hike begins along the Oued Ameskar, offering spectacular panoramas of the valley and terraced crops.En route, pass through the picturesque village of Lhout and stop for tea with locals in an old kasbah, a witness to historical conflicts between the valleys. Continue hiking to the entrance of the Agouti Gorges, where lunch will be served at the camp. In the afternoon, explore the gorges on foot amid impressive cliffs and wild landscapes before returning to the camp for the night. Day 5: Agouti – Aifr – Toudgha Gorges
After breakfast, embark on a magnificent hike toward the Agouti Pass, offering grand vistas over mountains and valleys. The ascent takes place in a pristine natural setting with spectacular scenery. The descent leads back to the M’Goun River, where you will enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch surrounded by nature.In the afternoon, traverse several authentic villages amid rose fields and traditional crops until reaching the charming village of Aifr, the endpoint of the hike. Then transfer to the Toudgha Gorges. A short walk allows you to admire the valley and its dramatic cliffs, where immense rock walls rise above a green oasis. An easy walk through the palm groves offers a striking contrast between the cool palms and the rugged mountains. After breakfast, depart Toudgha Gorges toward the desert. The route passes through the Tafilalet Valley, dotted with lush palm groves and traditional villages. Stop in Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for fossils and local crafts. Arrive late afternoon in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara. Check in at a welcoming guesthouse at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Day 7: Full Day in Merzouga
Begin early with a walk to the top of the high dunes to witness a stunning sunrise over Erg Chebbi. Return to the guesthouse for a hearty breakfast. Mid-morning, explore the dunes on foot, discovering the unique golden sands and tranquil silence. Lunch at the guesthouse. In the afternoon, visit the Gnaoua village of Khamlia and experience their traditional music in a warm, cultural encounter. Return to the guesthouse for relaxation, with optional swimming. Day 8: Merzouga – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, depart for Rissani to explore its vibrant traditional market. Visit a fossil workshop showcasing the region’s unique geological treasures. Continue through desert landscapes via Alnif and Tazarine, before reaching the magnificent Draa Valley, famous for its long palm groves and riverside kasbahs. Lunch en route. In the afternoon, continue to Agdz and then Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Desert” and famous cinematic city. Check in at your hotel. Evening at leisure for dinner or exploring the city center. Day 9: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive through diverse landscapes of desert, lush valleys, and majestic mountains. First stop: the UNESCO-listed Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic earthen fortified villages and a prime example of southern architecture. Explore its picturesque alleys, admire ancient mud-brick houses, and enjoy panoramic views of the valley. This historic ksar has also served as a film location for Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. Afterward, continue toward Marrakech, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). The journey offers varied landscapes, Berber villages perched on mountainsides, and remarkable viewpoints with opportunities for local encounters over tea or handicrafts.
